Hey guys,

I just purchased a Nikko Stirling 10x42 scope (see pictures attached/posted) from on here. It is an older scope (told mid-90's), can anyone in here confirm or not that it is? Also, it is designed like the Nikko Stirling Sniper model...just doesn't illustrate 'Sniper' on the scope itself. I tried to find this scope via Nikko's website and some google searching...no luck. So here I am.

Thanks for looking, hope to get some responses soon.

it looks like a SWFA SUPER SNIPER scope.
yes .. I am sure it is ... I examined a SS and a Nikko side by side years ago and couldnt see ANY difference except the name. The Nikko then was available in the UK .. the SS was not fwiw

The SWFA Super Sniper scope looks very similar, but the butt end of the scopes are different. The SWFA's butt end of the scope is fluted (horizontally grooved), while this Nikko Stirling is not.

I've read some US threads on that Nikko scope in the past and some pretty good arguments LOL. From what I gathered, this is a rock solid scope according to many reviewers if it was made in Japan so depending on what you paid for it, you've got some economical quality optics. To my knowledge, there was an identical model in a fixed 10x also. The only difference was it was stamped sniper on the back end as opposed to Nikko Stirling. There was no difference in production/ quality as far as I could see. There was also some dispute as to whether these were made in the same factory as the super sniper before Tasco took over the contract way back then. The reviewers agreed to disagree... Hope that helps!
