Just got this scope and sighted in on my rpr 308. Shoots pretty good but just can't shake the feeling that it was not the best purchase. I'm going to be shooting within 300yards. I was going to buy a vortex but the guys at cabelas persuaded me to my first Nikon due to clarity and warranty and is close to that of vortex

Not sure what you're asking or what you're worried about. Nikon makes a fine scope and I would pick it over a vortex any day.

I have a few Monarch 3s on rifles that get bashed pretty good in the bush. They are a fine hunting scope that can take a good knock and still hold zero.

Picked up my Monarch3 4-16x42mm for < 5 notes a while back. Typical Nikon quality, very good clarity and brightness. Currently on my 338 Win Mag.

I would take a high end Nikon over a Vortex any day. Nikon's warranty is fantastic.
