Hello everyone!
So I have purchased a S&W M&P 15 sport II And while I am familiar with the rifle platform I have never used anything other then iron sights. There is a local club here near me I want to get into that does Tac match shooting where you are moving and shooting from lengths 5-200 yards so I want to put an optic on the help with the distance shooting as well as fast both eye open close range. I have been doing some research and have for two scopes I am interested in. The Vortex strike eagle 1-6x24 and the Nikon Black force 1000 1-4x24. I have looked through both and both have great glass, the illuminated redical on both are about par with each other for brightness and I very much like the horseshoe style redical. The eye reliefe on the Vortex is not as good as the Nikon (I found you had to keep it in the sweet spot to keep everything clear where as the Nikon I could move it back and forth and everything stayed clear) but the Vortex is a 1-6 for a cheaper price where as the Nikon is a 1-4. The Nikon is at the very top end of my budget and I don’t mind spending the money for a good quality scope but I just don’t have to excess cash to spend more then that.
What opinions on these scopes do you guys have? Am I overlooking a different scope I should be looking at? Thanks in advance!
