what your though about this scope, how it perform, brightness, zero etc.
planning to get one onto a savge 12 could it follow the parade.

I have one on my CZ527 223 by choice. I own several Nikons and wish I had known about them long ago. Probably some of the best optics you will get and half the price of a Leupold. The Leupys are mostly known for their service and their optics are certainly no better than the Nikon. Very crisp optics and with the price pretty much untouchable. Way better than Bushnells for sure. I shoot out to upwards of 300m with the Nikon and have a couple of single powers on other rifles too. In the US Nikon and Leupold are pretty much neck and neck for popularity. I do still own a Leupy 2.5-8 VXIII which lives on my Ruger 30-06 but I have a Nikon Monarch on my 308 and a Prostaff on my CZ452 22lr. Excellent glass. Cmon-its Nikon. They make the best underwater camera you can buy so they know how to keep water out and make some of the best cameras professionals use. No brainer for me. FYI my spotting scope is a Pentax-again half the price of a Leupy and way better glass too.

i have one and it is clear and by far one of the best optics i have ever owned the only complaint i have is the sun shade does not follow the line of the rest of the scope.

What the other guys have said. Just as clear as Leupold for half the price, but the sunshade thing is correct. I had it on my Savage 10 FPLE in .223 and shot out to 600m. Repeatable (box test) and holds zero. Crisp, clear image all throughout the magnification range. Would not hesitate to purchase a few more.

I have a Prostaff on my CZ452 that was very affordable. Monarch lives on my 308 too. The Buckmaster saved me a chunk and is quite adequate to say the least. 3 for 3 so far. Needless to say there was not anything in the Leupold line that was going on my 22.

I've got the 4-14X40 SF and I really like it. The optics are excellent, definitely comparable to my Leupold VXIII, for less than half the price.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Nikons...
