I was on Amazon.ca a few weeks ago and saw these on sale for $1000 and thought I’d check them out especially with Amazon’s return policies. I had been comparing them with the Vortex Fury and Bushnell rangefinder bino’s. While I’m willing to put Swarovski Z6 on my rifles and spotters (Kowa TSN 883 & Razor) I’m less willing to pay for high end bino’s because living/ hunting in Ontario I don’t spend the amount of time glassing as in other parts of Canada. I did a comparison with my EDC bino’s Steiner Predator 8x42, and was surprised that they were quite a bit brighter and the glass was very good. They are not much heavier either but I will get a bino harness as I would not want to wear them on the Nikon strap hanging from my neck all day. Ranging was fast and accurate and the red display was not overpowering - ranging compared to Leica 1600b). Ergonomics were good as I have big hands and the ranging button was easily located. I have not had a chance to do a lot of testing but based upon my initial impressions I think I will be quite happy with my New Nikon bino’s

I am seriously looking at these as well, as an upgrade to my Nikon Sportster 10X42 and Nikon 800 laser range finder. I figure one piece of equipment to do two jobs may be worth it.

How far out will this unit lase a deer? If I could get 300 yards out of my Nikon 800 that was a good day. Will this unit really lase game animals out to 1000 yards? or at least 800 yards? If it's Nikon I'm sure the glass is very good so I have no hesitation about that - It's just the ranging that is the issue.

Would like to see one of these in the flesh so to speak before buying. Do Cableas or Bass Pro handle these?

I bet in a year or so Nikon will incorporate their new rangefinder tech into their binos.SO I would expect to see them 3000-4000 yards with real working ranges on deer around 1200 or so . Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part..

Some of the reviews I read said they ranged a deer at 900 yards. However I have not taken them out for that type of field test so I can only comment on what I have read from other owners

Does this unit feel only slightly heavier than regular binos or does it feel significantly heavier?

Bought a pair a couple of months ago and have been using them a little on country drives. I’ve ranged steel grain bins at over 1500 yds and a house at just under 1800. Cows have been a frequent target , ranged so far up to 900 yds but that’s not because they won’t range further just how far they were! Have been very happy with clarity and laser functionality.
