Nikon, Minox, or other?

I'm interested in getting a scope in about 2-8 power.

The Nikon Monarch looks good, as does the Monox ZA-5. A Leupold Vari-X 3 would be alright, but for a couple hundred dollars more.

Of course I want it to be rugged, and have good clarity, and a comfortably large eyebox/good eye relief. Repeatability is less of a concern, as I tend to sight in and not crank the dials much.

Suggestions?

I've had both the Nikon Monarch in a 2-8, and a Minox 3-9x40.

The Nikon pro's: Lighter weight, smaller obj, better tracking.

The Minox pro's: Better eye relief, heavier reticle, and maybe a tad brighter.

Both good scopes tough call, the turrets stick out a little far on the monarch.
