Nikon Monarch 3 scopes, any good?

While back I picked up a new Nikon Monarch 3 scope.
2.5 x 10 x 42 BDC
Made in the Philippines.

A new lightweight .308 is on the way this week.
I may use the Nikon.

Least expensive scope I have for a big game rifle.
A long way from old rule of equalling the cost of the rifle.

Guys what is your take on the Nikon Monarch 3???

The Monarch 3 are nice scopes. I have the same one as you but with the mildot reticle and I really like it.
They are not as sleek as a comperable Leupold but the glass is fantastic on them.

I have a Nikon Monarch 3 4-16x42mm Mildot on my .300 Win. Mag. Sako 85 Grey Wolf. Compact with generous eye relief. Pretty good clarity and brightness. I picked up this scope new for under $500 -

They have good clarity and gather light well.

I'm not a fan of their BDC reticle (find those little circles "cluttering") but you get a lot of scope for the money with a Monarch 3.

Also, Nikon now offers a "no hassle warranty" that even covers dropping the scope and busting it by accident. What's not to like about that....
