Yesterday I was in at SAIL and saw this scope for the first time. To be honest I was blown away by what I initially saw but it is hard to assess a scope in the store. I also don't think they allow optics returns so will have to find out more about this scope on the web. Anyone had a chance to try one of these in the field?
 
I've used it's little brother (4-16x42), it works fine out to 600 meters (max distance I have tried).
In retrospect I wish I had ordered the x50 for the better brightness at maximum magnification.

One of my sources who is a riflescope guru says the Nikon Monarch series is excellent value for the money w/good repeatability.
