Nikon ProStaff 3 spotting scope feedback

I am looking to purchase my first spotting scope. It's primary use will be for scouting wild turkeys in open agricultural areas and possibly deer scouting as well here in Eastern Ontario. Any experience/feedback with this unit (16 - 48 magnification x 60 mm) would be appreciated. I looked at it today at the Ottawa Cabelas and it seemed to fit my general price range - but would like to hear from people who had actually used it. The other option available was the Vortex Diamondback spotting scope.
