I installed subj scope on my Ruger 10/22, but it's fighting me. It's really hard to get a proper sight picture. I have the scope lowered almost to the barrel, pushed forward on the mount (eye relief is about 3 inches!), and an aftermarket stock with higher comb. It's getting closer, but it's nothing like my Bushnell and Vortex scopes, where I can drop my cheek onto the stock, and see perfectly.

My other major (MAJOR) beef with this one is focus. It has no adjustable objective lens, and the parallax, I'm finding out, is about 75yds, which is painful when you're trying for accuracy from 25yd to 100yd. I know, it's an average, but...

Of course, because there's no focusing the scope on target, while it's just fine from 50yd to 100yd, everything at 25yd is blurry as heck. At 25yd, I'm trying to hit 1/4" wide sticks, and they're just like looking at them under water - can barely make them out. Basically I'm aiming for the middle of the blurry, nearly invisible vertical stripe.

I've got a couple more things to try before this new scope goes in the yard sale, and I'll try something else. I have 4-12x40 Bushnells that behave just fine at all ranges, I just thought I'd try for higher quality glass. Looks like the entry point for Nikon is higher than this scope.

Anyone else run into this sort of thing?
