What's the difference betweeen the prostaff series and the monarch series?

Read that, what I got is monarch has better glass and is the higher up model

Kinda like the difference between Lexus and Toyota.

Both built by the same company but one is built with a little more care and style (quality of components) which is reflected in the price.

And in the Prostaff line there is a couple different quality levels with "Prostaff" being the bargain line and the Prostaff 5 and 7 being of better quality - again, reflected by the price.

Quick down and dirty description for you;

Prostaff's are a 2 piece build, plastic turret covers, Prostaff II are a 3 times eyebox. Prostaff 5 are a 4 times eyebox and add a parallax adjustment on the 3.5-14x and 4.5-18x. Prostaff 7 are the Prostaff 5 line in 30mm tubes.

Monarch 3 are a 1 piece build, metal turret covers, flip up objective covers included, a jump in glass quality and clarity. 4 times eyeboxes with a few more model choices. Monarch 5 adds an etched reticle and an ED glass element for much higher clarity and brightness. Monarch 7 are the Monarch 3 lineup in 30mm tubes.

I wouldn't be bragging about those flip up cap protectors, Travis. You know and I know they are awful. What is the difference between Pro 5 and 7?

Nikon Prostaff's are on sale for $179 @ Cabelas (certain models)... decent budget scope for the money.

I just got a Prostaff II at cabelas and the sale price last month was @$140 and I have been very impressed with the scope. Holds zero very well, and the BDC and the app they have has been spot on! (lol) can't go wrong with it.

Spot on is a very nice app. I just wish it was easier to save data for 2 different setups with different scopes.
