I don't have much experince with scopes, but I am looking at a
NIKON MONARCH X 4-16x50 SF what is it worth its never been mounted new in the box

I found the same,,,all over the map but this one is mine for $700.00 not sure what the Nikon quality is like. I have a 6500 on a tikka 223 varmint...was thinking of buying the nikon and selling the 6500

Bushnell Elite 6500?.........

Boy oh bouy Easterner.....do some serious reading on it.
Rimfirecentral and other sites.
Check out 4Scopes.
They have cross makes on quality if they sell the product.
With any luck your scopes should be there.
Good luck.

I bought a Nikon pro staff for my varmint .204 3-9 power. Had checked all kinds of scopes out that day at cabelas. Never bought a Nikon before. But after looking at all those scopes they had the best glass and clarity than anything else in that price range. Also has the bdc on it and works great. Very happy with it so far and can't see me complaining anytime soon.

I own two monarchs. looking to buy a third one. Great scope.Glass is awesome. No problems with them at all. For the price, you cant beat them

I did some research and compared low to mid prices scopes. For a 22, am going with a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 SF Milldot, it is a short, compact scope. Have looked through one and the optics are good, especially for a scope costing $500.

For that 4-16x50 SF, price new is $530 from Prophet River, but I don't think that is the "X" model.

EDIT: Found out the X model is double the price of the regular Monarch series. It has a 30mm tube, a better comparison with be the Monarch Gold series. The Monarch X 4-16 Mildot new would be $1200-1400 in Canada, but they were much, much cheaper a couple years ago.

I have a nikon monarc 2.5-10 and the glass is better than all bushnell I have looked throw
but for long range shots, the parallax error is extreme
talking about a foot at 400 yards
very important to pick one with adjustable parallax for medium or long range shooting
it have handled the recoil of my 338 lapua and 300wm without ever loosing a single clic
it is now on my G.F. 270
