I'm in the market for a long eye relief scope and the Nikon Force XR 2.5-8 seems to fit the bill. However I'm having a hard time finding places that sell Nikon, I've been going through the stores in the banner ads but so far very few carry Nikon and nobody carries that model.

Any suggestions?

How much eye relief are you looking for?

Around 17 inches, and I really do want magnification. It's for a PTRD scope mount I made.

The mount was made to require no modification to the rifle in any way and it clears the original sights as I don't want to remove the rear sights or alter the rifle. The current scope can be ignored and was just to test the fit and position.

Interesting idea. You are not in the Ottawa area by chance? I'd let you try the leupold vx-3 if you are. It's listed at 15" eye relief so might not work for how you want to set things up. Sorry to be taking this on a tangent :)

Thanks for the input fellas, I found a Bushnell that'll do until I can jump on something better later on.

I'll post some pics of the setup when it's done a bit later.

Thanks for the offer. Can't say when I might look for an upgrade but I'll keep you in mind.

Don't hold your breath however, if you want to part with the scope or something like that don't worry about me, you do you.

So I ended up with a cheap Bushnell Trophy pistol scope. It might not survive but at least not a whole lot of value will be lost in case it dies.
