Was greatly disappointed after calling Nikon Canada and being told by a lady in their Service Dept. That they do not offer service for their binoculars. Was told they only replace. Which is a problem for me as I have several 8x,30 Nikon porro's...but my earliest pair are an early 'A' series that are quite compact and excellent optically (and clearly cannot be replaced)...however they require re-collimation. No service despite the multiple provisions that were engineered into this excellent binocular for 'fine tuning' is VERY disappointing....and frankly puzzling.

AP,
That sucks, but if they are toast, they should offer to send you an upgrade.
Things have changed a lot in their bino lines, for example: A Monarch isn't just a Monarch anymore, some of the Monarchs shouldn't carry that name at all, real low end Prostaff stuff rebranded.

Used to be that Leitz Canada would at least do collimation... thanks btw MS...I will try Travis!
Then USA..

Thanks folks... and a very BIG thanks to Travis who got back to me right away and has coordinated a discussion with the Nikon Canada service department to see if there is anything that can be done to correct/adjust the binocular rather than replace it. I have my fingers crossed - despite its age it has been a wonderful optic to carry and clearly manufactured to extremely high standards (and I own Leitz, Zeiss and Swarovski bino's for comparison) I am frankly a little flabbergasted at how quickly Travis responded to my email and the very positive approach he has taken on behalf of Nikon. It is an exceptional example of customer responsiveness and very much appreciated. I can say that I have dealt with Zeiss, Swarovski and Leitz over many years and have never experienced this level of immediate and proactive assistance! Thanks again Travis...I am very pleased I have been a frequent purchaser of Nikon products.
