Nikon Turret off half division

Hi folks,
I like my new Nikon Prostaff II Rimfire scope but got one little issue.
On the elevation dial, the division marks don't line up with the fixed mark. They are always halfway in between.
Does anybody know if this can be adjusted by taking the turret apart?

The Nikon black I used for the first time had the same issue as well as not holding zero. I returned it today.

try loosening the screw and lining it up and retighten and see if that works

The black plastic turret cap is spring loaded and can be lifted to be set at zero. I took the Allen head screw out and lifted the black turret cap off. It is geared to the metal turret below.
I was hoping I could shift the grey band that had the index marker on it.

I have the same scope, iirc mine does the same on some marks. It doesn’t affect anything as the 1/4” a click is dead on while you sight in, which is more important in my eyes. Plus once it’s zeroed in at 50 I reset it to 0 which lines up, don’t sweat it.
