Barometer 28.97in.hg
Wind 3.8mph

First shot (top) setting was at 5.75 MoA.
Next 5 shots were at a setting of 4.75 MoA.

Could have come left 1 click and fired another grouping, but didn't have the time. Only have 22 rounds through her so far.

She was just one solid block of laminate when he started the custom fitting process through several visits over the last 9 months.

Needless to say, the wait was worth it ....... :D

EDIT:

Barrel make ..... The barrel is a MacLennan Stainless Steel, 1-12 twist, finishing at 27 inches without the break. It is a medium weight barrel and is about .750 diameter at the muzzle.

Stock make ..... The stock is custom and hand made by me from a Rutland laminated block and finished with about 25 coats of Tru Oil then rubbed down and polished.

Bottom metal ..... The detachable mag is by HS Precision and the bipod is a Harris "S" series.

Trigger ..... The trigger is a factory Remington 700. If it feels good I do nothing more then adjust it for travel and to about 2.5 lbs for weight. If it does not feel good then I will disassemble it, hone all mating surfaces and generally clean it up.

Rings and base ..... The base is a picatinny by Nightforce and the rings are Leupold.

Muzzle brake ..... The muzzle brake is by Holland. It is threaded on and needs to be indexed.

Reamer ..... The reamer is made by Pacific Tool and is called a 308 Bisley. It was chosen for its throat length so as to make it compatible with factory match 168 gr ammo.

Weight of rifle ..... With a scope and a fully loaded 10 rd mag the rifle weighs in at about 13 lbs. This weight is based on our Police Sniper version with a synthetic stock. Invidual custom rifles may vary slightly.

Very nice looking rig :) How much does it weigh altogether? I especially like the adjustable elements in a laminate stock :D I wonder if there are any kits you can get for modifying them, or if it's all done custom by individual gun makers. I know I have seen it done before by a guy from the UK over on the rimfirecentral board. Would love to customize my 12BVSS stock like that!

Could you give particulars.
Barrel make
Stock make
Bottom metal
Trigger... drop in or cleaned up Remy
Rings and base

much appreciated.

Hi folks..... :)

In order to get the exact and correct answers to your questions, I asked Keith Cunningham to fill in the blanks. So, for clarity, I edited my first post and added the information you requested.

BTW, Keith's project for us the year before was to build my wife (~Angel~) her own custom rig, similar to mine. With it, she and her sniper partner (Scott) won first place as a civilian team in last year's O.T.A.B. tactical sniper competition, held in August at Camp Borden. By invitation only, they competed with other civilian teams, as well as the sniper teams from various police tactical units, the RCMP and military. ~Angel~ and Scott worked like dogs (lots of running) for about a month before, training with Keith and Linda at Milcun and on their own time at the Sharon Gun Club, to get ready for that event.

Back from a week of shooting up at Milcun with Keith and Linda. Unfortunately, ~Angel~ beat me up again .......

She made the longest shot of 870 yards, second round hit with a .308 168gr on a 12" steel plate. Prone position sighting through open bush from a sniper hide, using mildots to estimate range to target with the rifle shown in this thread. Her first round just went by the outside right edge of the plate by a few inches.

After being secluded from knowing her result, I got to try the same 870 yard shot without knowing the range. My mildot distance judging was on, but I didn't have enough "left wind", which took me about six rounds to get on for line.

Freakin rounds kept wizzing past right side of plate, then the wind shifted even stronger to a cat 3 wind, just as I was adding left clicks. It was like watching a dog chase it's tail ... doh! :D

Our .308's (168gr) are challenged out past 600 meters by wind and it was blowing strong all week. We were sometimes using 1.25 to 2.0 windage, even at 400-600 meters. In spite of that, ~Angel~ shot a 50/50 with 5 V-Bulls at 600 meters with her .308. Of course, I'll take the credit as I was her spotter calling wind.... :p

For next year, I think we're going to get Keith to build a pair of 6.5 x 284's for 700 - 1,000 meter stuff on Milcun's new long distance range, which should be up and running by then. This was our third year and they're great people to work with ........ always a lot of fun.

Badger

Darn...... I thought I rubbed out all of the powder burns on the holes ... /QUOTE]

A plastic overlay on the targets will save you the trouble of trying to get rid of those pesky powder burns.:p
Scott
By the way nice looking rigs.
