Well, officially it is called Cambrai...:D

Both TR and F classers are welcome.

Here's the weekend shooting plan:

The gate will be open at 9:30am.
Shooting will get underway as soon as the range is setup and ready to go.

We will be shooting the Sierra ISU 300Y match Saturday morning. The course of fire will be 2 sighters (non convertible) and 15 rounds on score at 300 yards. This has to be completed over 4 relays, with a 24 minute time limit per relay. The HPS is 600x60X.
If there is any time left later in the day we may shoot at 600 yards.
To shoot the whole course on Saturday you will need no more than 78 rounds. No less than 66. Sierra Bullets has generously donated some 155g match king bullets for prize distribution in this match.
We need to have good attendance for this match, as the number of people that participate this year determines the prize pool donation for next year.

On Sunday we will have three matches;
2 & 10 at 300yards
2 & 10 at 500yards
2 & 15 at 600yards.
A minimum of 41 rounds will be required, possibly more if time permits.

See y'all there.

Where is the range located?

Its near Makinsons. Driving directions follow:

From the TCH, take Route 71 (heading into Bay Roberts, Carbonear).

At the next fork, don't take the road that leads into Bay Roberts, but stay on the main road.

After a short distance you will see another fork in the road at Hodgewater Line.

Take that road, and at the bottom of the road, turn right.

The range is a short distance down the road on your left. It is posted.

The range is in Makinson's.

Take the Carbonear exit off the Trans Canada for about 5 minutes and look for the Makinson's exit on the right.

Turn right at the bottom of the ramp and the range is just down the road on the left. There is a faded but legible military-style sign but it is hard to read from this direction.

It is a typical military range, with 12 lanes out to 400 yards and 6 lanes out to 600 yards. Typical vertical target elevators.

Dress for cold and wet, regardless of the forecast and bring a lunch.

...and a sense of humour. :p

Edit: BAHHH! WHAT HE SAID TOO!

I checked out google maps for a pic but didn't find it, found Pusseys Gully though. :D

That's it for sure, thought it would be more distinct on the sat shot.

We had a good shoot in beautiful weather on Sunday.

Many V's were pounded in, and one new shooter brought out his R700 in .338LM (!) for his first go at F-ing.

I managed a 50V10 at 300, 50V8 at 500 and a 47V4 in a knife-fight with gusty winds at 600.

This was our last scheduled range booking, but we may be able to secure a few more over the late Summer and Fall. I will advertise them here if they happen.

Membership in DCRA is required for insurance purposes and can be had from thier website. There is no provincial component to the membership fees this year due to the lousy range availability due to range maintenance.

I encourange anyone who has ANY kind of rifle to come out and give it a poke. Our attendance is woefully low, and if you think making little holes at 100 is fun, it is distilled fun to do it at longer range.
