Ran across an odd one the other day....its a 1941 Lithgow thats really short, barrel length is 453mm or a tad under 18".
Its got full wood just like an unaltered No.1 Mk.lll with bayonet lug and nosepiece. Everything is the same as a full-size rifle.
The receiver flat in front of the bolt handle has the following stamped on it :
IA CO SAC CA. AUSTRALIA 303 . Top of the receiver has MA
Vll
Also has crossed flags with an L over F between them.
Only matching numbers are the bolt and receiver.
I'm sure this must have been altered / customized by a shop in Australia.
Would any Lee Enfield collectors have any info on something like this ?
Any help/info will be greatly appreciated.
