no.1 mk111 in 223 rem?

I just picked a lee enfield no.1 mk111 is 223 rem, I am missing the mag, I guess you fit a 223 mag in the enfield mag, has anyone here done this before?

Its probably a single shot. Some were made for cadet target practice in England and Australia.

it's single shot for sure, but there has to be a way to make a mag fit the action

The aussies have rigged up Mini 14 magazines inside an enfield mag. A little DIY, but it works for them.

I have hunted with one in South Africa that had an insert welded into the magazine to take the .223 cartridge. I did have pictures but can't find them...

Friend of mine has one chambered in 22K-Hornet. Has the single shot mag conversion. Shoots like a dream. Heavy barrel and some really nice wood. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it some day.

Not sure what has been welded into the LE mag. I doubt its a CZ though. Years ago there was a roaring trade in SA converting and sporterizing LE's so I am sure there was a guy or 2 turning out mags. Might have been K-Mag?

The rifle belongs to a friend. The magazine didn't feed well on the last round. That said, he had used that rifle to take a lot of impala and springbuck over the years.
