I was shooting my repro No4(T) rifle yesterday and discovered something interesting with the Taiwanese reproduction No.32 scope.

I'd been having trouble focussing on the target. Big picture, the image in the scope seems to be pretty clear but the target would tend to be fuzzy, which is kind of a weird effect I'd never seen in a scope.

Yesterday I realized that I could get a clear view of the target if I moved my head to a specific spot. The focussed area of the image seems to be quite small so it is easy to lose it.

My guess is this is a flaw in the Taiwanese made scope / lenses. There are a couple of guys in Canada who specialize in No.32 scope repair so I am contemplating sending the scope off to be evaluated and repaired if necessary.

Interesting - I have on in-hand that I will examine again on the range tomorrow, but I cannot recall such a phenomenon, with normal focus and function. The repro (Taiwanese) scope that I had from Warren Wheatfield's special run of Canadian REL-marked repro No 32 Mk 2 optics also demonstrated normal function WRT target focus. Yours may be a "one of" with only a small "sweet spot" for the lense-stack where everything comes into focus?

It's more like a goober or a flaw in a lens. It's kinda subtle.

Once the winter hits properly I may see if Warren will take a look at it. Or maybe consider buying another scope? Although that would be an expensive correction.

Interesting comments. I was on the phone with a fellow who swaps parts on No.4s to make T and L42A1 clones, as well as unsporterize No.4s. He said he had two Red Star Mountain No.32 scopes that were well below acceptable quality. Good luck getting Warren to open yours or fix it. But, you can ask.
