I have a problem fitting a blond stock to Long Branch receiver.

The spot that seems different is the wood on the stock that fits against the block on the lower part of the receiver that the mag release pivots on. It looks the same as the walnut stocks but I wonder if the blond stocks shrink after a long time in storage? It is one of a number of new stock I have in my shop to restore military firearms.

Are the blond stocks of different dimensions than the walnut stocks, or do they shrink?

I just put a blonde stock on my 50 LB and it dropped right on, didn't even have to get it in a good mood first...

I have a forend I bought on ebay, it won't go on no how no way...I think they originally needed fitting when new.

I think there are a least three variants of forestocks - No 4 Mk1, No4Mk1*, and No4mk2. I've run into similar problems trying to fit wood - perhaps there are others than cam chime in with their experiences.

Long Branch so its fairly safe to assume that its a Mk1* or Mk1/3, so your not going to be catching on the bolt release plunger assembly.

If the blond stock is new it may need a little final fitting but thats all.

now if your trying to put a Mk1 stock on a Mk2 your going to have a lot more trouble. But it dosn't sound like that is your problem.

Fitting Stocks

I have the Mk2 stocks figured out.

Just have to take some measurements and figure out where the stocks are binding up. I will have to Dremel away part of the wood to make them fit. Try it on the gun and take some off then try it again, repeat until it fits.
