a small brass punch, tap it up pull it out with pliers, then tap the cross pin out being careful not to let the spring and plunger under the rear sight go flying.
It won't hurt. Better that than banging the hell out of the pin in frustration and screwing it up. The chances of you finding a replacement are very, very slim.
place a small socket over the top of it. Next use a pair of needle nose pliers, one side on the pin the other on the socket. This will drive the pin into the socket. This way you havent got to pound on it. Most of these were double peened that is why the are so hard to get out.
I hope the rear sight was a milled one instead of the stamped one, On the stamped rear ladder sight there is a VERY TINY spacer next to it to align the sight properly since it does not have the milled base.
