So I have a Korean War era Fazakerley 1952 mkii no.4. These rifles had a number of different finishes depending on country and year made, most wwii Longbranches and savages were parked, UK made were first oil darkened then they moved into black oxide finish. Post war UK mkii like mine were just painted in a black enamel. I wanna restore it to original spec but the type of nasty paint is only available In the UK in is deadly to use. I’ve heard that hi temp manifold auto paint or bbq paint matches almost perfectly and although not as tough will still hold up if baked on. I’ve also heard that dura coat is an awesome substitute?
Anyone with any experience in this please chime in as to what a suitable substitute would be ?
Cheers
