...does anybody out there happen to have a Long Branch No 4 Mk I* with British sniper wood? I bought a BSA No 4 Mk I*(T) years ago through a friend that had Long Branch wood. I finally tracked down the fellow my friend bought it from and he explained that when he bought it years earlier, he wasn't struck on the wood. In order to rectify this "problem" he ordered a Long Branch No 4, swapped the wood, and sent the Long Branch back. These both came from Albion Arms (Peterborogh) many, many years ago. I figure somewhere out there someone has a nice Long Branch with British wood. The butt will have a couple of screw holes on top, a number stamped in the wrist, and probably a big old "S51" stamped on the bottom. I was thinking lately that it is highly unlikely to be able to put this rifle back together, but it is worth a try. Wish me luck, and if you happen to have this LB, pleeeeeease PM me! Thanks.
