The stock on my No.5 is just too far gone (bubba!) to be refinished into anything with a proper fit. Can a new stock set be purchased or am I best off looking for a replacement on the EE? Also, the bolt I have in it currently is from a No.4. If I were to aquire a No.5 bolt and swapped out the bolt head, would I be good to go? Probably be best to get the headspace checked, eh?

Numrich has a pretty good No.5 replacement available.

I believe that it is a modified No.4, I bought one for one of my No.5's that was sanded and varnished beyond repair and it looks pretty good.

Headspace check is a must when swapping bolts.

actually a headspace check is a good ideal with any new enfield you get.

I suspect that you have a bolt that does not have the lighting counter drill in the bolt knob. Many later No4's had that feature as well as the No5's

No the the bolt does not have the lighting counter drill in the knob. It doesn't really bother me, just thought it'd be better to have the rifle as close to original as possible. As for the stock from Numrich, same as with the bolt. If all else fails, I'll definitely consider it.
