While we had participated in this in past years, this year it is just to much.

1. It no longer has anything to do with the day of the week called Friday. With the words "Pre, Early, week of" inserted before "Black Friday" It has has turned this whole thing into 4-5 marketing gimmick.

2. If a item is Reg $99.95 on for $69.95, That may be a decent sale? But why is it considered an even better deal when "Black Friday Sale" Is added.

3. What exactly is a is a Cyber Monday?!? What is the difference between a Black Friday and a Cyber Monday?

This year we will running promotions as regular. We will have allot more due to suppliers offering us .......... (will not say that word) promotions.

We will run these promotions for as long as the items are in stock and will be posting them on this thread.

This year we will not be using the BF swear word.

So relieving to read that from a retailer. The only good thing about Black Friday are the youtube videos showing morons fighting over a $100 TV.

It was called BF because it was the day a lot of retailers went from being in the red ink (deficit) to being in the black ink (profit)

It’s the biggest shopping day in the USA annually.

Your suppliers are giving you 'black friday' discounts...Sooooo....what are you calling your sale?

Pre black friday in Canada makes a lot of sense to me. Where I live a lot of people would drive to Minnesota for good deals. Local retailers realized they were losing out on a lot of holiday spending...so they have specials early to get that cash

We are not assigning a special title to anything. In the original post point number 2.

Years ago family BBQs seemed to always have to have a birthday/anniversery ect attached. Or 5 events stacked up to justify. It faded away when the majority decided, cant we just have a BBQ on its own?

Whoooo cares. Retailers charge less money for stuff, people like that. Anyone that cares why or what you call it is a weirdo. Lol

Many years ago BF was special but I agree with the point that if it's 20% off or hiked up 20% and then reduced by 15% why call it BF. I remember getting a large home depot brand shop vac for $20 because I was there early on BF. Nowadays it'll be $10 off. :) It is a bit of a joke.

Kodiak ….. Kodiak ….. trash ….. trash …. Give us something good

Cyber Monday was supposed to be specifically for consumer electronics, software, games etc but as with BF in general, has now been blurred into a week of foolishness...

I believe Cyber Monday was originally an online only sale? You needed to go to cyberspace to get the deals, hence the name, but I don't think it was ever restricted to consumer electronics?

So who wants to comment on Boxing Month sales? Another watered down ridiculousness. Especially the stores that have Boxing week sales that start before Christmas.

I'd rather stores had fewer sales but made them worthwhile. Especially given the cost of shipping these days.
