No (FRAUD ALERT)?

I did not know this about (FRAUD ALERT). Anecdotally I have been using them for years, and have not had any issues when paying for the occasional firearm. Looks like I need to do some research.

I had always wondered why the EE was mostly "EMT only" when (FRAUD ALERT) is the norm on sites like Ebay. Especially because it allows you to use a CC when buying from a private individual. It makes sense now that I know the "no firearms" thing

I would love to use (FRAUD ALERT) just based on the fact you have some consumer protections if you get scammed, but they are just like facebook, a policy involving "no fun whatsoever".

I had a talk with American Express about this and their anti fraud protection still applies if you are using the card to fund a purchase through (FRAUD ALERT). I would use (FRAUD ALERT) for all online purchases where a CC is not accepted if I could. I've never had a bad experience on the EE but sending off a non-recoverable EMT always makes me feel a little uneasy.

Most Ebay transactions through (FRAUD ALERT) are usually just marked "Ebay Transaction" or something like that...

Likely how people get away with it.

Yep, kinda like buying your drugs from the guy on the corner - everything is fine until you get caught Laugh2
