No Large Rifle Primers

The way it is now! The US now requires a permit for each and every order no matter how large or small and a hugh pile of red tape that has to be cut to get the stuff accoss the border. A case of primers or a truck load requ1re the same amount of red tape. Gun parts require more red tape than guns. With all the hoops that a retailer has to go through, one large order is simpler than many smaller orders. Large retailers have to put up with the unpleasant task of dealing with pissed off customers. Smaller retailers and smith simply can not afford to jump through the hoops and go out of business.

You're not speaking from experience are you? I can tell you from personal experience that most large retail stores or distributors fill out import documents about once a year and tend to ask permission to import large quantities of product so that they can "draw" from the American export permit throughout the year without having to constantly apply for new permits. There's nothing to say you have to actually import the amount of goods you requested authorization for. US State Dept. export permits have an expiry date of 1 year.

It's a common practice done by just about everyone to help avoid the "red tape" detracting from their day-to-day business.
