hi,

Just FYI, there seems to be a push towards introducing a 3lb min SA trigger pull in Production ( see http://ipsc.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=4795 )...

My baby eagle will not pass that, and I haven't made any trigger jobs/modifications... Any other guns which have really nice triggers that this would be a problem for? How's the K100's target trigger??

most CZs with new hammers / main spring will NOT pass this test.

most of these are 2-3 lbs.

i have tried one that felt like a SA 1911...

actually, re the CZs, it IS 3.5lb, believe it or not, but most of the weight is in the trigger spring, so once you prep the trigger, the break point is only about 1-1.5lb! Both Rodger and I were really surprised that it weighted in at 3.5, we both thought it would be about 2-2.5lb, it just feels really light, but the whole, overall weight, is about 3.5 (this is with the firing pin safety, without it, it would be about 3lb.. hmm.. ok, never mind...)

mine in SA is right at the borderline of 2.9- 3.1lbs.
I will vote no. Bad enough I have to push thru a 9lbs DA.

I voted NO.
This is remedial, redundant and ridiculous.
How can you say that a pistol with 10,000 rds on it + countless dryfires will have the same trigger as a factory DA/SA. ?

It's become the I wanna compete with a glock league to the I wanna be competitive with my glock league.

I voted no but the ease of checking for tricked out triggers will make this a go.

Another bad rule.

I voted no as well...

People who picked striker fired guns and chose to live with a 5+ lb pull for all their shots, did so of their own free will.

People like me who chose to take the disadvantage of having a heavier DA pull for the first shot, followed by lighter SA pulls (including dealing with a DA->SA transition), should not be penalized for that decision if we think it is an advantage.

The whole things seems to be an effort to make the striker fired guns more competitive. I have no desire to compete in the "Glock Division"

Not sure what the issue is since people shooting Glocks etc. regularly place well.

Cheers,
Henry

I hope they dont do it, there is already a 5lb DA trigger pull so there is no requirement for a minimum SA trigger pull.

You might as well bring in a SA minimum trigger pull for the Standard and Open divisions as well... like that is going to happen.

OTOH, the inclusion of the CZ SP-01 race parts already destroyed any credibility the division had. Including:

If you chose a CZ with it's utterly horrible, and I mean gritty, heavy, and repulsive stock trigger, tough nuggets.

It's funny how people want to turn this into a striker vs DA/SA.. a 1.5 or a 3.5 lbs trigger.. a 2 lbs difference is nothing compared to the comparison of a 2 lb compared to a 9-11 lbs.. even at 3.5 lbs it's still an advantage over 9 lbs (which can't be changed).. I've never heard people complains who use a glock..

what I have heard people complain about is the rules which let certain guns take parts which were determined to be OFM "upgrades", that drop the DA/SA trigger to 2 lbs.. I've heard move from other SA/DA owners saying "why can't I ???? , I shoot a SA/DA with a 5lbs SA???" then glocks owners who accept the difference due to the design difference.

Just read on Global Villiage that the idea to talk to the general assembly about adding a min SA to production is being, for now, shelved. No new Prod rules... Yippe...
