No more Barnaul?

According to my local gun store, there's no more Barnaul being shipped in. A real shame as it proved to be the most reliable and cleanest burning out of my SKS's.

Don't believe everything you hear! Apparently we weren't getting in anymore surplus 7.62x39 ammo crates but Cabelas has them online again and in the Ottawa store after being out of stock completely.

Oh really!?!?! I've seen that game happen for the last 15 years on surplus ammo

I assumed that it was sanctions as well but a little birdy told me that the main Canadian distributor (for Barnaul) went out of business.... Don't know how true that is though...
I did manage to find 250 rounds of Barnaul last month floating around online.

Marstar, Canada Ammo or Tradex or others would pick up that slack pretty quickly.

Cabela's in Edmonton and Calgary has pallets of 7.62x39. As do many other local dealers. Not sure what national origin.

I really enjoy Barnual. Shoots pretty good in everything I use it in. Sake goes for Norinco ammo

Barnaul is the most accurate steel ammo I have shot in 7.62x39 for my sks and CS 527.... S&B shoots equal. Chinese surplus follows them norinco and Russian are equal. Last is the remanufactured Chinese Noncorrosive.

My local Canadian tire has been out of stock for months.

All the Barnaul I've found in the last couple years has manufacturing dates from 2008-2011, nothing newer. Calibers ranging from .380acp to 7.62x54r.

Barnaul produces ammo under other names. Bear ammo (Silver, Brown, Golden) for example is made by Barnaul.

I emailed Tenda this morning regarding their “ out of stock Barnaul 7.62x39 “ and wanted to know if they would be getting anymore in soon and got a reply an hour ago. The response was “ due to international relations we will not be getting anymore in the foreseeable future”. Currently they have Sellier and Bellot for $389 for a box of 500.

S&B is very good to. I am glad that I stocked up on Barnaul... 1200 rounds.
