I dealer told me this is the case, once the current supply in the country is gone. There will be no more, period. What gives?

Usually what gives is he has 5 cases left that have sat longer than normal, and he's thinking your Visa will handle a second case...

Cheap .223 is scarce. The odds are it ain't going to get cheaper. Will It dry up? From China maybe, if the cost of shipping is higher than Nation X....

Been confirmed a few times by reputable sources. The shipping company that brings it in from China will no longer ship ammo. Besides this is stockpiled ammo from the time when it was government subsidized and stockpiled (late cold war era). So unless global conditions are repeated to make such affordable ammo conditions, then future production runs will have to be priced off of the cost of current world commodities.

Buy it cheap, stock it deep. Such things never last forever.

They wont ship the ammo because all the haters ragging on the cheap Chinese junk norincos and what not...shoulda stocked up suckers..i know people that know people that know other people so I'm fine.

I know more people than all your people put together.

Never liked that ammo anyways..
Too many bullets get "pushed in" during cycling, creating potential over pressure situation.
I have seen that ammo breaking AR bolts, no thanks.

Yup it seems to have been confirmed by a few of the big dealers, the shipping company won't ship it out anymore. It will dry up from China but continue to flow from other sources for a while more.

Interesting. That's the first I have ever heard of that, and have had no issues like you described in over 4000 rounds of shooting it.

That's the topic of conversation at my gun club too; and busted extractors and improper flash holes in the cases and some other nasty stuff that f*cks up your AR. Not in each and every case, but a lot more than the other brands.

Why did China make so much 556 ammo anyway? They don't use that caliber in their army?

But they do make Norinco ARs that they sell to other countries. Along with private sales to us (and also U.S. before the ban), they supplied or licensed to Iran, Thailand and a bunch of third world countries.

I just added 223 to my reloading regimen, the only way that I could get screwed later on is a shortage of bullets.
