no more unissued or non-refurb Russian SKS?

There are probably still some at Lever arms, but you have to go there and handpick them out of the dozens in the cabinets.

It pays to be patient and friendly with the staff.

If they have not changed their policy, each SKS customer is only allowed to physically touch and inspect three (3) pieces before he decides which to buy. So look very well before you ask to handle/inspect.

Oh I'm sure there are lots of people waiting & hoping there are no more coming .
Then watch the EE stock exchange prices go through the roof . I think the CGN EE should be listed on the TSE !
LOL

Hahahaha. That would be a sight to see.

Somehow or other, I have the feeling that it will take a long time for the price of SKS45 rifles to appreciate a lot. Many people bought several just as investments. There are still thousands more available according to the dealers. There just might be a price drop before there is any appreciation. It would just be history repeating itself all over again.

I've seen a rifle without the refurb square stamp, all matching numbers stamped, no electropenciled numbers other than the gas tube and original stock numbers, but with a black bolt, also matching, dated 1952. Is it a refurb? I certainly don't know. I don't know when the soviets started to blacken the bolts or why.

For some reason, I really doubt any of the rifles were unissued. I've heard lots of heated arguments but none based on factual knowledge other than the owners strong personal desires.

Please show me some documentation that will prove a rifle to be unissued. I will admit it is more than possible that a rifle hasn't been refurbed but unissued would be rare as hens teeth, especially when it's mixed in with a bunch of issued refurbs. I'm not saying that they're non existent. I do think that if there were any that were actually unissued from the factory original, they would be documented as such and there would be specific lot and sequential serial numbers. Such rifles would command a premium dollar, far in excess of what we're paying for said rifles now.

well i got one thats unrefurb, unisued, and unfired.. from Weimajack...i payed more then usual but it sure does look like brand spanking new. not a single scratch, blueing is exelent,
chromed bore is spotless.... so i think it is possible...

I just bought one yesterday from them, they still had around 50 in the cabinets. Some decent pieces left.

A lot of people thought the same thing about the Swede mausers when they were first on the market. There weren't any markings on them to suggest a refurb other than some of them had bolts with bent handles or different rear sights. I've yet to see one that hasn't been re barreled several times. They still look great and I'm not knocking them or the SKS rifles we're getting now, just very sceptical. There are a lot of SKS rifles out there that aren't stamped with the refurb box that are obvious refurbs. I'm just very suspicious of the "new unissued moniker".
I saw Weimajack's ads for the unissued mausers as well, they were RCs. The ad isn't telling the whole truth. Unissued since refurbishment is what should have been stated.

i bought over a dozen unissued IZH from dealers but none were as adverstised but was i disappointed , not at all , bcos im a realist , my belief are that most are refurbs and that the refurb work was done so well that its extremely hard to tell , it looks almost brand new . i said that in my sticky . so are there any true unissued out there , probably some but far less than whats been claimed .

not me, i have an ad on EE wanting more but not just any unissued/nonrefurb but only IZH with non-frankken pin mag , from what i heard no more of those are coming . :(
