I have a Rock Island Armory 1911 the mag will not spring out of the gun on it"s own. I must pull it out. Tried a diff mag, same problem. I tried mine in another gun and it worked fine. The gun is not high mileage. Novack mag, tried cleaning no good. Must i strip it complete? Any help would be appreciated.AGE

the mag is probably hanging up on the trigger bow. take a felt pen and paint the mag and see where it is scraping the paint off as you pop it in and out.this should orient your search.it may also be hanging up on a rough spot inside the frame,etc.these things are common on new 1911s.
Take the grips off. That'll help you with analyzing where the binding point is. Pull the mag out slowly a bit at a time and let it go and see where it drops away cleanly. That and a few other observations should tell you where the issue is.
