Just called Springfield Armory in the USA and they stated that there is no warranty center in Canada? they stated basically I am on my own and if there is ever a problem with a product then its up to me to foot the bill at a local gunsmith or to source the parts myself, that is unreal! Just imagine if you had a problem with one of their products, what a shame for a company as big as them to leave their Canadian customers high and dry! anyone else get the same answer from them?

Big Time No Go List! I made the call pertaining to an ad on EE where a seller has a XD 40 and XD 45 both with broken barrel lugs.....the price is right.....if Springfield covered the broken parts it would be an awesome deal! I always wanted an XD but not now!

I bought a springfield 1911 4 or 5 years ago from Wolverine supplies. They said then there was no warranty but they provided an in house warranty for one year. I usually check for store warranty before I buy from a vendor now. Just much simpler way to go.

That's why I would'nt buy any springfield XD pistol even if I was in the US, as there are virtualy no armorers or parts supply there either. Dispite the name on them, Springfield is only the distributor for a Croatian made gun in the US. There are numerous postings on the net about troubles getting service in the US, not surprised there is a zero for warranty in Canada.

Happy I got rid of my custom shop Professional Operator & Rob Leatham (The Great One) TGO-1.

Caramel, you should sell those M1A NM rifles too!

So you would buy a used broken gun at a large discount as long as the company would warranty it for free?

Barrels from Storm Lake are around $150 US.

I've only ever had to send one gun back. It was a daniel defense. Wolverine made sure I was looked after.

Lots of companies have a good reputation. Some actually earn it.

What is wrong with buying a used broken gun at a discount as long as the manufacturer will fix it for free? I thought the seller didn't have time to send them away or deal with shipping or warranty work so I gave Springfield a call.....I don't see a problem here if the price is right and the manufacturer would cooperate

At least you got an answer.... I left 2 emails and a voice mail message in the last 2 or 3 months regarding problems with my M1A. Never did get a reply. Am fixing it myself at my own cost...... trigger group being upgraded to USGI, pitted gas piston no big deal just replace, but Op rod that is hitting reciever and now has a gouge out of it at a critical curve in the Op rod really iritates me!!! I think it was built on a Monday! (after a long weekend)

Well for one thing, most warranties apply to the original owner only, as is the case with SA...

Your original post made it sound like YOU had a problem, it's not until later we find out the only problem is you are kind of a cheapskate lol.

I'll tell you something else about Canadian warranty....unless you buy from a select few dealers that do in house warranty, you are looking at months to years for warranty repair service. You are better off fixing yourself on your own dime...
