OK this might be a stupid question but, with the 1911 what is the difference between frames when it comes to caliburs. Lets say I have a 1911 in 45 Auto and decided to order Mech Tech CCU carbine conversion could I orer in 9mm and pick up a couple of magazines in 9mm for 1911 and make it work. I guess another question would be if this was possible would there be problems with regulations going from 45 to 9mm and back again?

Sorry about spelling and grammer.

Thanks Bob

I could be wrong but it looks like conversion kit only needs frame. I really do not know. But have thought about building 9mm 1911 from frame up so if i needed to buy bolt, and stuff at same time would be used in future. The reason I bring it up is would like to have hand gun cartrige in carbine, and would also like 9mm 1911, but if I went about it this way could I could use existing frame and slowly buy new frame and build up 1911 in 9 mm. For some reasone I can not sell guns. so this was a way to use a gun I dont shoot much.

As discussed above, I can confirm.

The Mech uses the ejector on the frame. If you have a 45 now, and want a 9mm Mech; you should get a 9mm ejector for your gun. Ejectors are $41.52 for 9mm extended and $30.18 for 45, 40 and 38.

Currently Mechs for 1911s are $375 and $395 for Glocks.
