No tag? Would you pay some $$ to find out who your Swiss rifle was issued to?

I was able to get help on the Swiss rifle forums to contact the family of the former owner of my K31. Without their help, contacting the family would have been difficult to say the least.

Now, if I could find who had my 1889 Schmidt rubin in their home a century ago, that would be amazing.

That's only part of what they can find out.

from Guisan Post:
IMPORTANT ! All info about the previous owners of your rifles...

The Swiss gun collectors association has access to this info and they do a special action this year to celebrate their 175 year anniversary.
What they offer is following;

The day, month and year of production of your rifle.
A picture of the inspector that put the acceptance stamp on your rifle.
A listing of all owners with their addresses.
And all this info printed on a certificate and real signed by the President of the associtaion.
Cost for just this is 10 francs which is around $11 now. (USD)

As a extra they offer;
The complete mechanical history of your rifle.
A copy of the delivery papers of the batch that your rifle was in.
For only 4 francs and that is $ 4.40. (USD)

Thing is, this is a Swiss organisation that only takes info from members in Switzerland and I am one of them (of course). To avoid fraud they want the requests send in by inland mail only and that is someting we are going to do...
I'm there now and leave next Wednessday.

The info they need;
1.Your type of Swiss army rifle (not the private ones).
2.The serial number.
3. Extra: yes/no
4. ZIP code plus country to continue track and trace.
NOTHING more and all this in the same sequence because see below.

DO NOT POST ANY QUESTIONS OR OTHER COMMENTS DOWN HERE !
I need to print out this thread to request for all this and people in CH do not always read English.
After I've received all ordered certificates we'll make a posting on how to get these to your place.
Act fast as we leave CH late TUESDAY so it's wise to act fast so we can make a inland post request in time.

GOOD LUCK ALL !

Guisan

Forget the whole thing guys.
I forgot Tuesday is April 1st.
April fools day is a big deal in the Netherlands, where Guisan is from.
Anyone want me to delete their posts on the other forum, just PM me here with what ever Handle you used on the other forum.
