Wish I had that kind of throwing around cash.Bring in 1000 Gen 2 Ruger Ranch/Standard in 556
Their whole business is importing from the US and selling here in Canada. They lost a fair bit of business because of the tariffs, as almost all of their inventory is stateside, so those who purchased knowingly paid the tariffs and IRG isn't sitting on a bunch of inventory that was tariffed. Stores here in Canada have to buy from suppliers in Canada, who purchase large quantities of product to make sure stores can stay stocked. So if supplier A buys 2 pallets worth of guns, etc. All of that inventory will have an increased wholesale price and as a result increased retail price as tariffs get passed along to the consumer. It's not being dishonest, it's basic business, stores have retail space that needs to stay stocked and unfortunately that means there's going to be a decent waiting time before prices come back down both because of inventory levels and greed once that stuff dries up. From what I was told most suppliers were trying to avoid bringing American stuff over in too large of quantity for that exact reason. You aren't entirely wrong tho, I can definitely see prices staying artificially inflated into the beginning of the new year, easily. You guys are about the only ones that are reducing prices because of tariffs being dropped... I have even seen some prices go up at other stores once they announced that tariffs would be removed Sept 1st (specifically 911 Supply).
It's amazing how fast some retailers jacked up the price when the tariffs were announced and you can bet they will be as slow as they can to remove them.
Great on you guys for being honest and not trying to gouge your customers. You will always get my business.
