Last year I inherited some old Can Army Binocs from my Father in Law, they ain't pretty, or light, but they are tough, and have very clear lenses so I was going to clean them up and use then this hunting season.

Sorry for the blurry pic...this side says No2 CDN MK2/5, and the other side says REL/Canada 1944. The canvas case is stamped inside the flap 1953.

Anyone know how to read the range finder part of the lens?
Or perhaps have an old manual around?
Also pardon the crud...I have to take them apart and clean them up soon.

I believe that scale is in mils.........

At least, that's what the ones we used in the early 60's for our Sherman sighting telescopes and crew commander binoculars were.

... You might want to have them Professionally Cleaned and Collimated. I've a pair of WW2 Canadian Navy 7x50s and the image quality is certainly on a par with some of the better current binoculars, so I'd assume , given that the lens aren't "fogged" it would be worthwhile spending few bucks to get the best performance from them. Graduations should be in MILs.... David K.

Thanx for the tips guys.

I'll try to find a place that can Professionally Clean and Collimate them...who does this kind of work? :)
