I am restoring a rustly old wall hanger no4 and the front and rear band on the wood is a much heavier design. They are around 1/16 I think. It takes 2 people to get the screw through them. 1 to hold them together with a pair of pliers and 1 to screw them together. This is the first set that I have seen this thick. Anyone have info on them or are they just another set of bands?

Hereis some pics. The band on the far left is a normal band. The other 2 are the thicker ones. If it matters they were on a 1942 Longbranch. As you can see they are almost double the thickness.

Yes, those milled bands are the early ones for 41 and 42 Long Branch rifles. I'm personally fond of them but getting the screws started can be a challenge for sure!

I have used padded vice grips in the past. Last few I've done I was able to do it with fingers.

My 41 LB wears a hinged upper band...that one is easy!
