No4 Magazine

Curbing my boredom, I starting cleaning out old boxes of “stuff”.
I found a magazine, believe it’s for a No4, which I’ve never owned. No idea where I got it.

Markings I can see are;
5 or S inside a square, on follower
F on the spine, also looks like an 8 under the F
sn KC21843

Any significance to the markings?
Worth anything?

are you certain the serial number is KC21843

that is a Savage mag and Savage serial numbers normally are #C####

if it is a Savage serial number then it should be a 0C or 1C as it has 5 digits following the C so it is late production.

But that said is could have been serialized to a complete different rifle form a different manufacture.
