Surrey barrel

Surrey was a model of commercial sporter from back in the 1960s, done quite neatly by Parker Hale I believe. The Surrey was an inexpensive model. The few that I have seen all had the forearm bobbed the same way and the metal was reblued. The bores were like new.

Does it have civvy proof marks on the barrel near the muzzle?

As mentionned, Surrey was a mark used on commercially sported rifles.
You don't mention if the rifle is in service or sporting configuration. If it is stocked up in military pattern, it is a restored sporter.
