I haven't been able to find a micrometer sight for my enfield any where. Does anyone know of a place to get them?

Also in my search to find a sight I read that rifle stocks dry out and can warp. I read that soaking it in raw linseed oil is the answer. Now my stock seems to be doing pretty well and the only raw linseed oil I could find was at lee valley but it's a finish not just a treatment oil. Any thoughts?

Check the EE section for a sight, Weimajack was selling some a short while ago.

Go to Canadian Tire and find a litre of pure, boiled linseed oil in the paint section, and rub a very thin coat on the Lee Enfield's wood and there you go.

Yes, don't goober the BLO on and leave it dry on the surface or you will get a build up on the surface like semi-dry ketchup. Thin coats and wipe off any extra. You want the BLO in the wood, rather than on top of it, for a military style finish.

kent carries raw linseed oil, i normally give a enfield stock 3-4 coats of raw and let that soak into the wood and then seal it with turp/boiled lineseed oil

Raw linseed oil was what we used to recondition FN stocks after a spell in the elements. It penetrates the wood and is a good preservative. BLO has a drying agent added which facilitates the development of a shiney finish-only light coats well rubbed in though. Tung oil is another good conditioner. There are commercial tung oil finishes, like the Minwax one, which have drying agents added as well.

Good Day

Home Depot also sell's boiled linseed oil, it work's very well on these Lee Enfields as this the original finish.
Just be very careful when storeing linseed oil, keep sealed in original container
and what ever rag's you use make sure you saturate them in water after use
and leave outside to dry.
Linseed oil soaked rags that are thrown in the garbage can start fire all by themselves.
Take Care

If you only need a little BLO I'll give you some,

1L goes a long way and even with the pile of rifles I have I don't think I'll run out anytime soon :D

You can find BLO in HomeDepo or CT paint sections
