No4 Mk1 Muzzle

Did any No4 Mk1`s come from factory with the muzzle cut behind the bayonet lugs?

Nope. That was something done post war when some companies sporterized them.

Like Cdn303 says, that's a sporterizing thing. The barrel should be about 25" long. Measure it. Closer the bolt and run your cleaning rod in, mark the rod where it stops at the muzzle and measure the rod. Have a close look at the muzzle too. It should have been crowned. That the rounding you see on rifle barrels. Flat and square will do though.

Barrel length on the Number 4 was supposed to be 25.4", measured from boltface to muzzle, with the bolt closed.
