No4 Mk1 serial MC220XX ??

I'm looking up a rifle on the EE and the seller told me this was the serial number on the bolt/receiver is MC220XX
I've been trying to look up which production this is but have been unable to find info on the "MC" prefix marking, if it helps it also has the FTR 48 marking on it

MC is a prefix, serial number starting with 2 is Fazackerly. Maltby started with 1, BSA with a 3. Pefixes started at A, ran for so many numbers and then reset; A to Z, AA to AZ and on. Google Maltby serial numbers, lots of good stuff out there.

Unfortunately I did not get pictures of the rifle's serials, but thanks for the info! I didn't quite know they did double letters (only A to Z)
