I just bought a No4 Mk2(f) serial # PF2638xx for what seemed like a good price. It has matching numbers on the bolt and receiver, receiver is marked 12/52, 5 groove barrel has a few marks including a B, an arrow, F52 and an S. It also has Surrey Firearms Co. England stamped on top of the barrel. Everything looks to be in excellent shape with shiny sharp rifling but the stock has been cut down to a sporter, barrel has not been cut. I am wondering what is the reason for the Surrey stamp and is it still a good canidate for a complete restoration. If so would I need to find parts marked with an F? If not, what kind of price would I expect to get for it?

Surrey stamp was added when it was sporterized, so its not you average back yard bubba job.

parts should be FAZ manufacture, and should not be too hard to find.

resale, well I would say $150 as a minimum prices on sporters has been going up so I'm going to say if you list it at $250 someone will jump on it in short order.
