I've acquired a Lyman 2.5 power Canadian marked scope for a Long Branch TP that needs cleaning and post replaced. Is there anybody in Canada that does this work? An export or reimport requirements if it is sent to the USA (Parsons Scope Service). Ron

If it was mine I think I would go over to milsurps dot com and PM Peter Laidler. He would definitely steer you in the right direction.

Does BDL also do scopes?

That's just me though. Something like that is irreplaceable, and I would want to know it would be done right, preferably by a real armorer.

Brian #### does not do any scope work.....everything goes to Laidler through Fulton in the UK. Peter does excellent work on No32's.....I'll ask about Lyman's.

I agree with you on the rarity factor.....just not a lot of these around and I was " in the right place at the right time" to pick this up. Also need the Griffin and Howe bracket. I'd take one complete or in pieces.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ron

Thanks for the info so far. Sent emails to Parsons; Wheatfield and couple folks in the Uk. Still waiting for some responses. Ron

Got some interesting replies on www.milsurps.com. Clive Law's book "Without Warning" has an article on the Lyman TP. Lyman used a No12 needle and reprofile to the distinctive post shape. Some leads on repair however no response to emails sent. Will keep folks posted as I'm certain there are others in this situation. Ron
