Here are some Jungle Carbine Bayonets I have picked up over the last two years. Since I don't own a No 5 rifle anymore and I don't know when I will replace mine, I have a feeling that I should sell one bayo - especially as these are rather uncommon. I have more knowledge regarding German and Russian kit and not much regarding British. I didn't find much in regards to comparables on the internet. Lots of repro's out there.
I did find out that one is probably a WKC WWII bayo ($250 paid) with scabbard and some post war marking. I don't know what they mean. The second one is a Malaysian thinned out blade without scabbard ($100 paid) - one resource said used for police probably 44 or 46 dated - maker unknown.
I sold one of these Malaysian Bayos with a scabbard on CGN for what I thought was a decent dollar years ago, but the buyer thought he got it for almost free ($150) and that I didn't realize what I had. I have seen these sell for $99-450 so I don't want to give these ones away.
I would prefer some people piping in.
Which bayo to keep? What do the markings mean? Some ball park figures for fair pricing?
I am being upfront in that I am outright stating that I am going to sell one of these bayonets.
I personally don't like it when members ask for help identifying an item they got for cheap/free, portraying that they are going to keep the item, and then turning around and selling it in the exchange within 24 hours for a handsome profit when they didn't even realize what they had in the first place or what it was worth. Especially as the bulk of these items are pretty common with lots of comparables that can be found with a 10 minute search.
Thank you
