Friend has asked me to mount a scope on his jungle carbine. We want to keep the gun original. He thinks a scope mount is available using screws on the side of the receiver. Can anyone fill me in on this mount and where to get it?-------thanks Cowboy

There is a nice no drill mount called Cad Tech or something similar.
B-Square makes one too,but whatever you do......don't drill it.

S&K makes a very sturby one that clamps on the charging bridge by means of a wedge and 1/4'' Allen bolt.
Keep that Jungle well away from the drill and tap, you'd kill all the collector value it has.

S&K, B-Square, ATI, and Armalon make mounts that attach with screws in the rear sight mount with no drilling and tapping, but then the rear sight isn't there anymore. (Marstar also offers one that looks to me like the Armalon but I don't know if it's a copy or an actual Armalon.) Weaver seems to offer only the TO-1 which requires drilling and tapping and then uses tip-off rings.
The Cad-Tech mounts with new screws provided to replace the ejector screw and safety lever's screws so no drilling and tapping is required. It is a two piece mount so that you can remove the upper part with the rings and scope and re-attach it and they should not lose zero. The rear sight does not have to be removed to accomodate the mount or scope, but you do have to remove the scope to use the rear sight. (I have two of these mounts which I have used on two No.4s and one No.5 and mine both worked as they should in all applications.) Its biggest drawback is probably that it carries the scope quite high. A replica of the No.4T sniper cheekpiece and a Beartooth comb-raising kit have both solved this problem for me.
