looking to purchase one of these military scopes from a gentleman but i know very little about it.
can anyone enlighten me?
i plan to mount it on my jungle carbine if i can't correct my front sight problem.
is this feasable or am i out there?
 
These were the scopes off the Carl Gustauff anti tank weapon. Marstar origionall y sold them for around $100 each about 10 years back. Since then, many guys have tried passing them off as sniper scopes, with some guy on ebay getting 2 or 3 hundred each for them by displaying it mounted to the top of an Enfield rifle.

If you check gunbroker auction # 77662978, you can see they aren't in demand much anymore. This one didn't even see $50.
 
IIRC, the reticle is fixed and the tube is adjusted by moving the mount. This is opposite to the standard rifle scope.

You don't want to mount this on a JC. The eye relief is very short and you will end up with an eye full of scope. Very painfull.

They are only good for very low recoil situations such as .22
