erm arent all guns banned in the UK? I know their national olympic pistol shooting team has to go to south africa to practice.
 
Nope. Pistols and semi-autos are banned, rifles and shotguns heavily restricted. But given as Cadets, at least in Canada, fall under the DND, those rifles aren't privately owned anyways.

The air cadet second from the right is either wearing blue jeans or needs to lay off on the starch.

If you take another look at that pic, you will notice the white bands on the No 4's Those are L59A1's You can't chamber a round in them as the barrel is plugged. Everything else works.

I just hoticed every one is at least heavy cruiser size with one destroyer escort on the right.:D

Ahhh.....so nice to see happy young lads. Happy people make a happy world. :)

Actually even the older one's look happy too. I think the lady in the background is singing 'Britannia rules the waves'.
 
I did not notice the weight issue.
Just looking at the rifles - but you're right.

I was back in the UK last october
Kids were fat
Adults looked rather healthy actually.

Lots of suits with worried expressions.
